CLUB NOTES 2009/2010

Dear Member,

I enclose your membership card, fixture list, rules and maps of club waters. For this season, Puddenhole Lake and Castlefields Lake will be open from Friday 1st May 2009 (this does not include the river). The river season starts on the 16th June and closes on 14th March 2010. Membership Cards must be taken when visiting our waters and shown to bailiffs and persons in authority when requested. Your membership card is not transferable to any other person. Failure to show your card to a bailiff will result in you being asked to leave. All members are required to attach an I.D. photograph to membership card before fishing. E A Licence Please note our waters are patrolled by the EA bailiffs and you must have a current licence. Please note all river waters closed on Sunday August 30th , Sunday October 11th and 18th , and December 27th . (Lakes are open on these dates.) Change of Rules No Night Fishing Permitted. Fishing allowed from 30 minutes before Sunrise to 30 minutes after Sunset. Your card will be taken away and you will cease to be a member for life, if you fish outside the latter times. Our bailiffs make visits to all our waters. Waters will also be checked at night. Club Bailiffs and Committee Members carry Photo I.D. Publicity Ban A complete publicity ban of all fish captures, with the exception of anything approved by the Committee. Groundbait A maximum of 1 kilo may be used on all club waters, with the exception of the Millpond. Floating Baits Floating Baits are now permitted on club waters, with the exception of the Millpond. Unhooking Mats All members are required to be in possession of an unhooking mat whilst fishing on all club waters. Keep Nets Keep Nets are banned on the lakes, but may be used on the river. Members are asked not to keep fish for long periods of time in nets. Large fish to be returned immediately. Tins. Sweet Corn, Meat and all other tins are banned from our waters. Castlefields & Puddenhole Lakes. No fishing beyond the middle of the lake, or past the platforms on either side. Castlefields Lake Please Note. Fishing from Platforms only. No fishing between swims.

Parking Cars must be parked in areas shown on club map. There will be No Parking on Puddenhole side on A25, in entrances to Watermill, Castle Gardens, Garden Centre, or any part of Golf Course. Castle Gardens is a Private Road. No Cars or Motor Cycles to drive along or park for any reason. This includes collecting or dropping off of anglers or tackle.

Litter must be cleared up and taken away. You are liable for any litter found around you. All discarded tackle, plastic bags etc, must be picked up and taken away. Last season your committee received complaints from farmers and members of the public that hooks and nylon were being left on the banks and getting wrapped around sheep’s feet, and birds. Please clear up when you finish, and do not break down fences or leave farm gates open.

Guest Tickets Members may take a guest with them. Guest tickets £6 to be obtained prior to fishing from the Hon. Treasurer A Fuller (Tackle shop 32 South Street, Dorking 01306 882177) Please Note Guest Tickets are not available on the River Bank or at the Lakes.

Warning – Danger to Life Keep clear of overhead power wires. Do not allow your fishing rod or line to approach power wires. Your tackle can conduct electricity. THIS CAN KILL

Ref. Club Map Please note Ref Burford Bridge Fishery is known as Stepping Stones on Club Map. Car parking is now available at Norbury Park. See enclosed map for details.

Competition Venues are closed to all members on day of competition. This applies to Senior Matches. Lake Match venues are closed 1 hour before match start time. Members may fish competition venues one hour after finish of match. The Committee, are, as arranged at the AGM, looking into how Members without an Internet Connection can check to see if sections earmarked for use on match days will not be needed, and therefore open for Members. COMPETITIONS

The draw for all Senior Competitions will be at the Pilgrim, Public House, Station Road, Dorking one and a half hours before fishing time shown on Fixture List.

Stewards will leave meeting place 75 minutes prior to start.

River matches cancelled due to flooding will be re-arranged on the club lakes.

North Bank Section of the river will only be used on its full length when conditions suit (at the discretion of the Steward of the day).

Competition Entries to Andrew Fuller, 32 South Street, Dorking. Telephone 01306 882177 between 8am-5:30pm ONLY daytime. Senior and Junior entries by Friday prior to match. Limited matches by Friday one week before match, check with Andrew Fuller on Monday prior to match to see if successful in draw (Competition Rule 1) Entry Fee £1 plus optional pools.

Optional Pools Up to and including 29 Pool entries 3 payouts 50%, 30% and 20%.

30 Pool entries and over, 40%, 30%, 20% and 10%.

Senior Xmas Competitions. Entries will only be accepted on receipt of non-refundable, £5 entry fee by Wednesday 4th December.
