NORBURY PARK

“Important- please note that the club has not , as yet, been able to agree terms for a new lease of the fishing at Norbury Park season 2015/16. Therefore , until further notice, it’s presently assumed that this section of river will not be available to members from the start of the new season. Any changes to this will be posted on the website immediately.”

Due to damage to fish, floating baits are banned on the Lakes until further notice.

IMPORTANT NOTICE. DO NOT PARK ON THE TARMAC PATH BETWEEN THE BUS STOP AND THE  ACCESS TO THE NORTH BANK, AS THE RESIDENTS ARE UNABLE TO SEE APPROACHING TRAFFIC WHEN THEY LEAVE THE DRIVE. IF MEMBERS DO BLOCK THE SIGHT LINE, WE COULD LOOSE  ACCESS VIA THE DRIVE AND PARKING ON THE GRASS VERGE.

Information has been received that unknown individuals are unlawfully taking fish from the River Mole. They are driving up in white vans and parking behind the Dorking Garden Centre (on the Old Reigate Road by the foot bridge) so they cannot be seen.
They then enter the field to the west and walk along the river bank and fish in the area of the weir.
It is an offence to fish without permission:
Schedule 1 Theft Act 1968
A person who unlawfully takes or destroys, or attempts to take or destroy, any fish in water which is private property or in which there is any private right of fishery commits an offence. There is a power of seizure under this schedule.
This water has a private right of fishing so anyone fishing must have a membership. There are NO day tickets (DDAS does not allow these).
Please report any suspicious activity to the Police:
Report as soon as possible with as much detail as you can provide Tell them if suspects are alone or in a group; if they are trespassing and whether they have equipment, dogs or firearms with them
Call 101 to report crime, or dial 999 in an emergency or if a crime is in progress.
